Other costs to allow for

Our fee is one part of the picture. Most projects also have council fees, usually $2,500 to $3,500 depending on your council and scope. Some need an external report (geotech, stormwater, or engineering), though most do not. If yours does, we tell you upfront in your quote.

Why are our fees lower than an architect's?

Architects are set up for full design and project management, so consent drawings alone can run $5,000 to $9,000. We do one thing, minor building consents, so the fee reflects that. Same drawing standard, narrower scope, lower price.
